Save the Date Video

March 29, 2010

It’s done!  Shot in my basement and the East High school parking lot on a cold day in February.  Joe and I shot it, I edited it and Anna and Hobbes helped with the final shot.  A light hearted, cheap, fun way to announce our wedding!  We bought our costumes at a thrift store and had a lot of the props laying around.  We skimmed iTunes diligently to find the worst version of Canon in D possible. I daresay we succeeded. Enjoy.

Handpicked flowers

March 25, 2010

I really like the handpicked look.  Especially since my family and friends in MO have volunteered to plant some flowers in their garden for us.  My fiancé’s aunt calls them ‘Love Flowers’.  I am so thrilled!  So in celebration, here is a montage of lovely handpicked flowers from the internet!

Ranunculus, larkspur, yarrow, eucalyptus, straw flower, snap dragons, Chinese lanterns, zinnias.

Lovely things

March 23, 2010

Ain’t nothin’ like a fishin’ creel on a bike. I kind of like the idea of a bike basket as a guestbook.

But then again, what is a guestbook anyway?  Does anyone write anything worth saving in these things? Is it just an excuse to have a pretty prop? I don’t know.  I may want to haul my dad’s old Schwinn Corvette down from Milwaukee just to look pretty.

what a gorgeous bike

Midterms. Posting on hold

March 22, 2010

For readers who don’t know… I am a full time student finishing my undergrad at the University of Madison WI after a 3 year break in my education.  I also work to pay my bills and cover my tuition. I am passionate about my studies and value doing well in school.  Therefore, I have not had time to generate wedding related content, nor do much wedding planning at all.  This week I have 3 exams and 2 papers due along with other non-school related obligations.  Spring break is coming up, so look for posts then.

Hair pieces

March 17, 2010

So I’ve gone from wanting nothing to just a flower to a handmade piece made of hatmaker’s crinolin… back to good old Etsy.  Sarah and I agree that my dress needs something to help balance it out… so I have been looking for something that is colorful, big and classic.

Here are a few Etsy finds:

And a beautiful feather piece by Toast.

It is midterms round two.
So here is a pretty repost from Style Me Pretty. I love the idea of the “DIY cupcake” bar.
